Chapter 8: She Jumped with One Hand

Lu Xuanxuan instinctively scrambled onto Jiang Sui’s back.

“Hold on tight. Use your arms and legs,” Jiang Sui whispered.

Without hesitation, Lu Xuanxuan wrapped herself around her like an octopus.

The live comments flashed across the screen:

“What’s Jiang Sui trying to do now?”

“She can’t possibly be planning to jump up there with Xuanxuan on her back, can she?”

“Jiang Sui, don’t try to show off. Be good, listen.”

“It’s just a game, is all this really necessary?”

“Exactly, look at our Xuexue, taking it easy and just letting things slide.”

“Is Jiang Sui a sore loser?”

“Jiang Sui, put Xuanxuan down! If anything happens to her, I’ll never forgive you!”

But to everyone’s astonishment, Jiang Sui hoisted Xuanxuan onto her back, braced herself with one hand, and leapt up with ease.

Not only that, but she jumped three levels in a row with Xuanxuan still clinging to her!

Each step was a meter high, but she made it look effortless. Some even noticed that, fearing Xuanxuan might fall, Jiang Sui reached back with one hand to secure her.

Which meant she was jumping with only one hand!

The entire crew was stunned, the camera barely keeping up.

The comments exploded:

“Follow them! I want to see just how awesome Jiang Sui is!”

“Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap!”

“See, this is what happens when you underestimate her… Holy crap! She really did jump with one hand!”

“What’s the camera doing? Hurry up and follow them!”

An impatient viewer ranted, “Stop filming Bai Xixue already, I want to see Jiang Sui and her daughter! Can the crew listen for once? I paid for VIP, not to watch people slack off!”

“Why are you yelling? It’s just a game! Our Xuexue is popular, so what if she gets more screen time?”

“Stop arguing, look—Jiang Sui just jumped down again! That platform’s so high, and she’s steady even with someone on her back!”

At this point, the camera kept swapping between Bai Xixue’s team and Jiang Sui’s.

One moment, it showed Bai Xixue’s child pulling a cart while her mother lounged about.

The next, Jiang Sui was landing steadily with Xuanxuan still on her back.

Lu Xuanxuan clung tightly to Jiang Sui, glued to her for dear life.

She whimpered, “Jiang Sui, you can do it.”

Jiang Sui smiled, and with Xuanxuan on her back, charged straight for the suspension bridge ahead.

The bridge stretched five meters across.

To call it a bridge was generous—it was actually a single long cylinder, and mother and child had to cross it together, strapped in with safety harnesses, inching their way across the narrow beam.

On the other side was the finish line.

“Xuanxuan, do you trust me?” Jiang Sui crouched down to look at Lu Xuanxuan.

Xuanxuan glanced at that cylinder, her legs trembling in fear.

She was terrified of heights.

She didn’t want to go up at all.

The host added commentary from the side: “As everyone knows from the introductions earlier, Xuanxuan is afraid of heights. Can she overcome her fear? How will Jiang Sui help her cross boldly and successfully? Let’s watch and see.”

Xuanxuan bit her lip, on the verge of tears, and said angrily, “I’m scared, I don’t want to cross.”

“I’m here. Mommy Jiang Sui will protect you, Xuanxuan. Don’t be afraid,” Jiang Sui soothed her gently.

Xuanxuan gave a small nod, but after another look at the bridge, she shrank back two steps in fright.

Jiang Sui grinned. “Get ready~”

Xuanxuan lifted her head.

“Just like before, hold on to me,” Jiang Sui said, and once again scooped Xuanxuan up onto her shoulder.

Xuanxuan instantly started wailing, “Waaah, Jiang Sui, are you tricking me? Put me down! Put me down!”
