Chapter 69: She's Clearly a Beauty

The expressions on the faces of the "bad guys" lying on the ground were exceptionally vivid—terror, fear, shock, and rage all mingled together. How could there be someone so shameless? She must be the real villain here! What terrified them most was that she had called the police—how were they supposed to explain themselves now? If this incident ended up at the police station, their boss would never let them off the hook.

So, they decided to get up and flee at once. But Jiang Sui reacted with lightning speed; as soon as she hung up the phone, she kicked the garbage can next to her and sent it flying! That slender leg of hers was powerful enough to send the metal bin hurtling across the street like a cannonball!

The first man to run was struck square in the back by the flying garbage can and went sprawling to the ground! Then, Jiang Sui took out her phone and started recording them at her leisure.

“Go on, run! Let’s see you run!” Jiang Sui grinned at the camera, her tone light and breezy, as the men’s expressions changed dramatically. “See you on tomorrow’s headlines!”

The group exchanged glances. None of them had expected a girl who looked so sweet and easy to bully to actually be this terrifying. They couldn’t win—not a chance! If only they’d brought some weapons! They looked at each other—damn it, they’d be fools not to run!

But they’d barely taken a few steps when the garbage can suddenly came flying toward them again!

With a dull, heavy thud, several men were knocked to the ground! The sight of the trash can barreling through the air at them left them half scared to death. Panic overtook them, and even these grown men began to scream in terror.

“A ghost! It’s a ghost!”

“A ghost! There’s a ghost!”

Just moments before, these thugs had been swaggering about with menace. Now, they trembled on the ground in fear. The garbage can lay scattered in pieces, garbage strewn everywhere, the metal fragments broken and twisted.

Jiang Sui tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and smiled faintly. “But I’m clearly a beauty.”

The police arrived soon after. A few young officers glanced at the beautiful, unscathed young woman standing to the side, then at the group of burly men, battered and bruised, who were now crying and wailing about ghosts as if they were greeting their own parents.

Wait a minute. Something didn’t add up. Wasn’t it a woman who called for help?

And this woman looked a little familiar… Wasn’t she that popular actress who’d been all over the news lately?

Jiang Sui sniffled, her eyes brimming with tears. “Officers, it was them. They just tried to kidnap me.”

The thugs scrambled to defend themselves. “Officer, we didn’t! We didn’t try to kidnap her! She beat us up!”

“That’s right, she beat us! Officer, you have to help us!”

“Officer, that trash can—it was flying! It just flew right at us!”

The young officers remained expressionless. “Take them all in.”

So, Jiang Sui and the group were brought to the station for questioning.

Not long after, Lu Ye arrived at the station as well. The moment he entered the office, every eye in the room instinctively turned to him.

“Wow… he’s so handsome…”

“Which celebrity is that?”

“Never seen him. He must not be famous.”

They watched as the man made his way into the lounge.

“Our investigation shows these men were indeed targeting Miss Jiang,” the young officer sitting across from her said seriously. “But all they’ll admit to is causing a disturbance and making trouble for you. They refuse to say anything else. Miss Jiang, do you have any clues? Perhaps an enemy, or a business rival?”
