Chapter 119: Are You Close to Him?

Qin Ze’s appearance made nearly all the girls present swoon, their eyes bright with admiration. Several of the female staff members were so excited they jumped up from their seats.

Wearing his signature smile, Qin Ze looked directly at Jiang Sui first. His gaze was clear and bright, as though two limpid pools in spring, utterly captivating. His pale blond hair added a hint of rebellious youthfulness, and paired with his strikingly handsome face, he truly looked like a beautiful boy stepped straight out of a comic book.

Jiang Sui immediately recognized this young man at a glance.

Wasn’t this the guy she’d run into at the bank?

She had only later learned from Shi Heng that he was the idol who had recently become a nationwide sensation.

Although the original owner had always worked in the entertainment industry, she hadn’t met or known everyone. Some people were just names she’d heard, their popularity familiar but not something she’d followed closely.

As for this idol, Qin Ze, he seemed to have exploded in popularity recently. So, there wasn’t much information about him in her memories. Still, judging by the reaction in the room, his fanbase was massive.

But why was he looking at her like that?

Were they supposed to be close?

Qin Ze’s gaze shifted away from Jiang Sui, seemingly by chance, and turned to the director.

“I haven’t really acted before, just here for a cameo. I hope Director Lin won’t mind,” he said with a bright, hearty laugh, both polite and humble.

Director Lin certainly didn’t mind. It wasn’t often that someone so popular was also so courteous. With a good-natured smile, he replied, “What are you saying? I’ve seen the short films you acted in before—you’re not bad at all. And today you can help our new cast members practice their scenes.”

Qin Ze smiled, glancing once more at Jiang Sui, before heading off with the stylists to get into costume.

After all, Qin Ze couldn’t possibly act as the male lead in modern clothes—how could his scene partner immerse themselves in the role?

“Director Lin is pretty famous in the industry. Seeing how well he treats Qin Ze, he must really like him,” Shi Heng whispered. “He keeps looking at you. Do you actually know each other?”

Jiang Sui shook her head. “No, we don’t.”

Hearing this, Shi Heng was visibly relieved.

“I heard the male lead for this drama has already been decided—a Best Actor, though it hasn’t been officially announced yet. Qin Ze is just here to run lines with you, so don’t be nervous.”

“I’m not nervous,” Jiang Sui replied.

“…Right,” Shi Heng said.

Soon, they all returned in costume.

Now dressed in ancient attire, Qin Ze truly embodied the grace of a noble young man, as gentle as jade. Yet, draped in the imperial robes, he exuded a touch of regal dignity and an imposing presence that came naturally.

A chorus of excited screams erupted from the girls on set.

“So handsome!!”

“Oh my god, my Zeze looks amazing even in period costume! I can’t handle this!!”

“He’s so handsome I could cry… How is Little Ze so good-looking?”

Even the actresses reading for roles couldn’t help but gaze at him with infatuated eyes.

Jiang Sui found a spot and sat down.

Suddenly, a female staff member approached her, shy and a little nervous. “Sui Sui… may I ask for your autograph?”

Jiang Sui looked up, smiling graciously and warmly. “Of course.”

The girl’s face lit up with joy. She immediately handed over a pen and a photo card of Jiang Sui.

As Jiang Sui signed her name, the young woman spoke with excitement, “Sui Sui, I really like you and Xuanxuan. I envy the bond you share. My own family growing up wasn’t great, but I hope that one day, I can be a mom like you and make sure my child never suffers like I did…”

Tears shimmered in her eyes. “Sui Sui, you have to be well. You and Xuanxuan both deserve happiness. I’ll always support you.” She gave a small bow. “I hope you succeed today.”
