YOYO stomped hard on her wound. The searing pain made Tang Ye scream in agony. Unsatisfied, YOYO pressed down again and again on the same injury. Tang Ye had been using her dwindling powers to keep the blood from gushing out, but now the pain was so unbearable she could no longer summon the strength to use them.

Staggering back two steps, Tang Ye began to mumble an incantation. Four razor-sharp icicles started to form slowly around her. Under her control, each one pierced into Tang Ye’s limbs, pinning her in place.

Her screams of pain echoed throughout the arena, rendering everyone speechless. Du Bin and Hu Guozheng exchanged a weighted glance, channeling their energy. The moment they sensed any intent to kill Tang Ye, they were prepared to break the tournament rules and leap in to save her.

“Heh, look at you—so helpless, like a lamb waiting for slaughter, yet with no way out,” YOYO sneered, crouching down and grabbing Tang Ye’s hair, yanking her head up. “Don’t hold it in. If it hurts, go ahead and scream!”

Irritated by the look in Tang Ye’s eyes, YOYO slapped her hard across the face. Then, pressing her blade against Tang Ye’s throat, she threatened—just a slight pull would draw blood.

“YOYO, enough games. Destroy that necklace already! I’m running out of patience,” Wu Qiwei called out, quelling the petty jealousies between the women.

YOYO stood, tossing the necklace high into the air and, as it fell, cleaved it in two with a single stroke of her sword. Lan Ye motioned for the others to fall back, her voice cold as she warned, “You’ll regret this, Wu Qiwei.”

Barely clinging to life, Tang Ye’s pupils were slowly overtaken by a crimson hue. Wisps of blood-red vapor began to swirl around her, growing thicker. She lost all consciousness.

Thump, thump… thump, thump… The muffled sound of a heartbeat seemed to echo from somewhere distant. An evil aura pulsed from her body. Her eyes snapped open—now completely red.

With a crack, the four icicles melted away. Tang Ye’s body, wreathed in a brilliant red mist, began to rise slowly into the air. The crimson vapors coiled into a sphere around her, blazing with a scorching light. No one could see what was happening inside.

Clenching her fists in agony, blood seeping from her palms, she didn’t make a sound. Her canine teeth elongated, shoulders hunching as her back bones pushed out, tearing through her clothes as a pair of bloody wings slowly unfurled.

A beastly growl rang out, chilling all who heard it. From within the sphere, a surge of power erupted. Tang Ye’s wounds began to heal at a speed visible to the naked eye. Her wings burst through the sphere’s shell, shattering it as she crashed down onto the arena floor.

YOYO was completely stunned by this strange and overwhelming power. She’d always known Tang Ye’s true identity, but had dismissed it, never imagining that once the long-suppressed seal was broken, Tang Ye could possess such terrifying strength.

Through blood-red vision, Tang Ye saw only red. She roared at the crowd, then, with a flap of her wings, appeared in the stands in an instant. She began a merciless slaughter, her eyes filled only with blood.

The terrified crowd, desperate to escape, trampled one another, abandoning loved ones—every selfish instinct laid bare. The entire arena dissolved into chaos. Wu Qiwei, satisfied with the bedlam, turned and left with his Tianlong team.

Lan Ye blocked his path. “What exactly are you plotting with all this?”

“As a hunter, shouldn’t you be stopping me? Or will you choose to destroy your vampire niece, whom you’ve protected for years?” Wu Qiwei chuckled, then swaggered out of the arena.

Lan Ye stared at Tang Ye, her body soaked in blood, her eyes filled only with the urge to kill. Guilt gnawed at her—she had promised her sister she would protect Tang Ye, but her momentary lapse had given Wu Qiwei his chance.

The hunting clan had sealed Tang Ye away out of fear. Now that the seal was broken, her vampire identity would make her the hunted, pursued by the entire clan. Lan Ye punched the wall in frustration.

High above, Tang Ye hovered in the sky. Suddenly she swooped down to land before Du Bin, startling him and Hu Guozheng. She reached out and gripped Du Bin’s neck.

“Xiao Tang, it’s me! Du Bin, wake up!” he choked out painfully.

Tang Ye paused, her red eyes locked on his for a long time, confusion flickering across her face. She suddenly drove her razor-sharp nails into his body. Blood spilled from Du Bin’s mouth as he weakened.

Her hand trembled. She didn’t know why her eyes filled with tears. Images flashed rapidly through her mind, more and more, until her head felt as if it might explode. She screamed out of control, threw the wounded Du Bin aside, and flew off to massacre more civilians. Several gifted fighters tried to stop her, but none survived.

Clutching his wound, Du Bin realized she hadn’t struck to kill. He could only mutter her name over and over, even as Hu Guozheng dragged him out of the arena, oblivious to everything else.

“Hu Guozheng, let go! I have to stop her. Didn’t you see—she still remembers me! I know I can bring her back.”

Du Bin tried to rush back in, but the movement made his wound gush blood. Hu Guozheng held him back with all his strength. “Stop dreaming! Look at your injury. Can’t you see she’s not the same? She’s not Xiao Tang anymore—she’s become a bloodthirsty demon! There’s nothing the two of us can do. Let Aunt Lan handle it—she’s her aunt, after all.”

Hu Guozheng understood Du Bin’s feelings for Tang Ye—their ambiguous relationship had always been obvious. As a friend, he wanted to support him, but in this situation, the only choice was to stay away. They were just novices who’d trained for a year; this was far beyond their abilities.

Seeing Du Bin’s stubbornness, Hu Guozheng had no choice but to knock him out, steal a car from the parking lot, and drive off. Not long after, he spotted Zheng Shasha fleeing through the crowd and picked her up, heading for the port.

Zeng Yilong, following Wu Qiwei’s hint, had already left with Qin Ling on a private jet. Qin Ling, unaware of anything that had happened at the arena, slept peacefully in his arms.

Nakajima Le’er, wielding Wan Ting, flew toward the rampaging Tang Ye. With a spinning slash, she attacked. Tang Ye reached out with one hand and, with a twist of her fingers, snapped Wan Ting in half with a surge of power. In a flash, Tang Ye was before Le’er, and with a raised fist, she struck. Le’er quickly shielded herself with a barrier of holy light.
