Chapter 107: The Clash of Destiny III
Taking advantage of Wu Qiwei’s moment of drowsiness, Ye Tang struck swiftly with her sword. Shadows formed a protective barrier around Wu Qiwei as he used his left hand to fiercely block the attack. The clashing swords emitted a piercing, grating sound that made everyone nearby cover their ears. Wu Qiwei’s left hand lacked strength and was forced aside by the impact. Ye Tang followed up immediately, driving her sword through his body. Blood gushed forth violently. Wu Qiwei, trembling with his ruptured hand, looked at the crimson blade embedded in him with disbelief. The searing pain tore through his entire body.
“If you weren’t delusional about gaining the vampire’s power, the Crimson Blade wouldn’t affect you at all.”
“Unexpected, I underestimated you,” Wu Qiwei spat blood, chuckling foolishly as if embodying the authority of an elder with a condescending gaze.
Ye Tang sighed softly. At last, she had avenged herself—finally vanquishing the man intent on destroying everything. “Your plot will never succeed. I won’t let you resurrect her, because you don’t deserve it. From start to finish, you’ve been selfish. The one you love has always been yourself.”
Blood poured from Wu Qiwei’s body, and the fiery heat of the Crimson Blade caused unbearable agony. Suddenly, a strange glint flickered in his eyes. “You have no right to judge our affairs.”
Without warning, Wu Qiwei’s left hand clenched tightly around the Crimson Blade. Enduring the soul-consuming pain, he let out an eerie laugh. Ye Tang felt uneasy at the sight and tried to pull the sword free, but Wu Qiwei’s grip was unyielding. Deep blue radiance shone from his pupils.
“Damn! This guy actually—”
Layers of blue flames, carrying a malevolent aura, rose and spread upward, bathing the sky in a cold blue light. Straining, Ye Tang finally extracted her sword from Wu Qiwei’s body and stepped back to assess the situation.
Despite the blood pouring from his wounds and the excruciating pain, Wu Qiwei maintained a sinister smile. He pulled out a syringe filled with green liquid and injected it all into his body.
To spare her from burden, Ye Lan led Du Bin and the others to hide. They sensed an oppressive, evil aura in the sky that suffocated them. YOYO, after rescuing Ye Tang, remained passive. She knew that even if she intervened, it wouldn’t help. It was better to let the two battle to the death and reap the benefits. Du Bin recognized the looming threat and trusted Ye Tang. Her presence had changed him, and she must not be harmed.
“You say this is a conspiracy, but you’re the greatest beneficiary of it,” Wu Qiwei sneered, wiping blood from his mouth. “If darkness gave birth to you, it can just as easily destroy you.”
Ye Tang understood his words. Darkness symbolized her parents—they created a darkness that transcended all power in the world. Wu Qiwei represented the dark god of destruction, capable of annihilating all, including herself. “Are you the victim or the villain? You claim misfortune, yet you brought all this into being.”
“I am both, so what? You still can’t finish me off now.”
Ye Tang swung her sword fiercely, intent on killing this madman. Though a single strike could have ended him, he had injected some unknown liquid that shielded him from the Crimson Blade’s burning. Despite her fierce assault, Wu Qiwei remained calm and indifferent, never seeing her as a true threat. In his mind, she was always a few ranks below.
A dazzling red beam clashed against a blue one—two opposing forces that both nurtured and countered each other, locked in a fierce battle, each trying to consume the other's momentum.
Ye Tang thrust the Crimson Blade toward Wu Qiwei’s body. His refusal to dodge struck her as odd. Before she could ponder further, an eerie light radiated from his eyes. Just as her sword was about to touch him, Wu Qiwei’s body shattered into countless stardust-like fragments that quickly vanished.
Frozen in disbelief, Ye Tang couldn’t believe her eyes. She could easily track speed, but Wu Qiwei’s sudden disappearance was beyond her grasp. As she stood stunned, countless stars coalesced behind her into a shadowy figure. Danger flashed in her mind. She spun around, raising her sword defensively. Before she could fully see, the shadow collided with her blade, unleashing a powerful shock that sent her flying ten meters back.
The force was immense, but Ye Tang used her wings to steady herself. When she looked ahead, all was silent. “What the hell is going on?”
From over a hundred meters away, the starlight rapidly condensed into Wu Qiwei once more—and shockingly, his right hand was regenerating. Ye Tang was stunned. “Little girl, do you know what darkness is? To you and the world, darkness is often labeled evil and denied.”
Wu Qiwei’s hands suddenly elongated to strike. Feeling the unprecedented power behind the attack, Ye Tang swiftly dodged left and right. Wu Qiwei’s gaze hardened as he locked onto her, launching a swift assault. “Let me see which is stronger—your righteous demon power, or my hellish might that surpasses even the gods.”
Confused, Ye Tang saw his speed and strength had changed drastically. A thunderous sound erupted as two energies flashed across the rooftop. The building couldn’t withstand the surge and collapsed instantly.
Wu Qiwei appeared and vanished intermittently, elusive and unpredictable. Whenever he emerged, Ye Tang charged him, and they vanished together. Swords clashed, disappearing again and again as their battle raged on for nearly half an hour.
She dodged one of Wu Qiwei’s blows and reacted immediately, releasing a blazing fireball. Wu Qiwei made no effort to evade; he absorbed it directly. Sparks flew as flames enveloped him, shifting from red to blue.
Wu Qiwei vanished and reappeared above Ye Tang, swinging the shadow blade at her head. Ye Tang conjured a fiery shield, bracing with all her strength. Upon impact, the shield dimmed briefly, and blood trickled from her mouth. She pushed harder, and the shield brightened again, barely holding.
“What truly defines light and darkness in this world? I’ll show you what real darkness is—how it terrifies and suffocates.” Wu Qiwei, embodying a godlike yet sinister presence, mocked all existence from his lofty perch.
“Ten Thousand Sword Evil Spirits.” With his power, countless shadow blades split and scattered, filling the entire sky with the traces of swords.
“God, I’m about to faint.” Ye Tang watched, stunned, taking a sharp breath. Surrounded by countless swords, she forced a bitter smile.
Wu Qiwei’s eyes were bloodshot, completely overtaken by evil power merged with the shadows. “I’m not afraid to tell you, this is the latest vaccine developed using vampire genes as a template. Its name? The R Vaccine.”
“The R Vaccine?”
“Yes, it stands for Revenge—divine redemption! Punishing those who desecrate vows and false justice.” Wu Qiwei waved his hands, and the sky filled with shadow swords all thrusting toward Ye Tang, densely packed with no room to maneuver.
“You only use love and loss as excuses to hide your inner emptiness. You lost because of your weakness, so you crave power to become a god, dragging the world toward sin and ruin!” Ye Tang weaved through the myriad swords, deploying an eight-sword formation for defense when she found a moment. Then, she summoned two swords of purple energy, darting through gaps among the countless blades. Wu Qiwei extended his arm and lunged at her.
Their blades clashed fiercely. Ye Tang had several chances to dismember him, but he kept regenerating, growing stronger. When she let her guard down briefly, Wu Qiwei suddenly grabbed her wings from behind, spun her around, and slammed her violently to the ground. Luckily, Ye Tang reacted quickly to control her fall, narrowly avoiding a brutal collision with the earth.
In just minutes, she was riddled with sword wounds. Though vampires possess strong regenerative powers, the damage from so many swords was overwhelming. With Wu Qiwei’s predatory gaze fixed on her, his sinister laughter shook the ground. He was no longer the man she knew—transformed by the R Vaccine into the supreme judge of hell, condemning the demon before him.
Wiping blood from the corner of her mouth, Ye Tang whispered, “Under the R Vaccine’s control, this guy has become terrifying. Is there any way to kill him?”
The Crimson Blade spun continuously around her, defending ceaselessly. Aside from attacking Ye Tang, countless shadows scattered in all directions, slaughtering anyone they encountered. Du Bin, seeing this, hurriedly led Aunt Lan and the others into a subway tunnel. The sky was shrouded in dark mist as two dark forces battled fiercely, determined to obliterate one another in a final confrontation.
“Girl, this is the outcome. Even if you are the biggest beneficiary of this conspiracy, having gained the power of two clans, I may not possess it, but I won’t allow it to exist. From beginning to end, what that person gave you was nothing but endless despair. Heh heh heh...”
