Chapter 59: The Furious Little Sun
“So that means no matter how Xiaotang attacks, she can’t defeat that weasel?” Qin Ling’s disbelief was palpable; in such a vast world, there truly existed someone with such abnormal powers.
The Black Panther spoke with a touch of arrogance, “It’s obvious the result is decided.”
The weasel, full of pride, pointed at Ye Tang and said, “Your sword is useless against me now.”
“What?” Ye Tang glared at him, gritting her teeth.
“Hahaha, stop wasting time! Unleash your strongest secret technique against me, or you’ll just wait for death.”
“If you’re so eager to die, I can grant your wish.” In an instant, a torrent of flames erupted from Ye Tang’s body, her power surging relentlessly. The arena transformed into a furnace, and the audience broke out in sweat.
“Use your ultimate move and reduce him to ashes! Make him remember this pain in Hell forever!” Qin Ling shouted energetically, but Zeng Yilong could only shake his head at her.
Within the VIP room, the Tianlong Team watched the unfolding battle. The curious YOYO approached Wu Qiwei and asked, “Will she really use the Fire Phoenix?”
“She won’t. She simply doesn’t have the ability to summon the Fire Phoenix now.”
“Why not?” YOYO stared blankly at the scene before her.
“To use the Fire Phoenix, she must drive it with her own powers. To maintain its destructive force, she must continuously channel her spiritual energy into it. This is something we share with the Ice Dragon.”
“I know that,” YOYO replied disdainfully.
“Before defeating Nakajima Le’er, she was at her peak. But during the struggle against the power of light, she overexerted her spirit and now can’t recover quickly. Currently, she is barely at sixty percent of her former strength.”
Wu Qiwei analyzed the situation based on his experience, and YOYO was a little surprised. After all, she came to this deadly arena to challenge Ye Tang and prove herself as the true heir of the Hunting Clan. “Sixty percent, yet her aura is much fiercer than it was a year ago.”
Wu Qiwei was well aware of the girl’s intentions, since she was his protégé and his chosen successor. “That’s why I can say for certain she cannot summon the Fire Phoenix. Even if she forces it, she’ll die from spiritual exhaustion.”
“I just want to know: which is stronger, the Ice Dragon or the Fire Phoenix?” YOYO cared nothing for Ye Tang’s fate. The only thing that mattered was whose ultimate skill was more powerful, who was the true heir of the Hunting Clan.
“Since ancient times, the dragon is favored by destiny. Everyone knows the dragon is a symbol of yang, and the phoenix embodies yin. The strong can overcome the soft; thus, the dragon wins!”
Wu Qiwei’s words comforted her slightly, but her heart still yearned for a true battle between heirs.
Back in the arena, Ye Tang was gathering a tremendous flame in her hands. The entire audience unconsciously held their breath, afraid to disturb the unfolding scene. She understood the current situation; the weasel’s arrogance was surely not without reason.
She withdrew her gathered power and rushed forward, sword in hand. The weasel was surprised she abandoned her secret technique; his plan was for her to exhaust all her moves and become a powerless victim.
Ye Tang understood this, so she decisively abandoned her powerful ability. Injuries from previous matches had left her unable to squander energy. Her battle with Nakajima Le’er had drained her spirit, and now her abilities were only sixty percent of her peak.
But not killing the weasel would betray Du Bin, who had been beaten so badly. Caught between dilemmas, she chose revenge.
As she rushed forward, the weasel confidently met her attacks head-on. When her sword aura struck the faint layer of gas around him, it rebounded.
Ye Tang didn't give up; she spun and slashed a crescent arc. Her sword split into several blades, forming an eight-sword array that attacked the weasel in unison with her will.
The weasel saw it as a mere trick, hardly worth his attention. Ye Tang, meanwhile, focused all her previously gathered power within herself, quickly becoming enveloped in flames.
The fire grew larger and larger, forming a sphere. Before everyone’s eyes, Ye Tang merged her body into the sphere, which radiated heat almost a quarter that of the sun.
Unable to withstand the heat, the crowd fled, leaving only the Girl of Light, Le’er, in the stands. The VIP room was insulated by special protection. Zeng Yilong and Qin Ling retreated to the lounge, blasting the air conditioner, but it only blew hot air.
Hu Guozheng, who had just rushed Du Bin to the hospital, worried about the astronomical surgical fees. He and Du Bin together barely had five figures, but fortunately, Qin Ling’s fiancé covered the costs. Glancing at the television in the ward, he saw Ye Tang merging herself into the flaming sphere, becoming a miniature sun. Suddenly, chaos erupted; the camera shook and soon switched to outside the arena.
The weasel was shaken by the scene, even hesitating himself. He wasn’t sure his gaseous shield could withstand such power. Before he could react, Ye Tang’s miniature sun flew toward him.
The closer it came, the harder it was to breathe. The weasel rolled to dodge, but Ye Tang dove down again in an arc, burning everything in her path. Luckily, the arena’s sprinkler system kept a fire disaster at bay.
The eight swords followed Ye Tang’s attack. The weasel tried to escape, but the swords looped behind him, trapping him. The miniature sun was now right in front of him. Gritting his teeth, the weasel turned and summoned all his strength to face the blow.
At the moment of contact, a powerful explosion erupted. The miniature sun flew out of the smoke and hovered in midair.
When the smoke cleared, the arena was empty, devoid of any sign of life. The weasel had vanished, and Ye Tang’s flaming sphere gradually dissipated until her body appeared, descending gently onto the ring, protected by her eight-sword array.
The once-scorching arena quickly turned cold. The wealthy gamblers began returning. Xiao Xue returned to the ring to ask Ye Tang about the weasel’s whereabouts.
“He’s nothing but dust in this world now.” Ye Tang calmly sheathed her sword.
Xiao Xue was astonished but still announced the Hunting Team’s lead. The Black Panther snorted coldly at the outcome.
“Should I fight next, or will you?” Black Panther asked the Young Panther girl.
Without hesitation, she replied, “I’ll go. Even if I can’t win, I’ll drain her spiritual energy. As for the last match, that fat fool is nothing but cabbage to you.”
“You’re right. Let’s do it your way.” Black Panther smiled.
