"Something wrong?"

At that moment Chen Jianguo happened to come out of the house. He could not help sneering. "What kind of pointless business could a jobless bum possibly have?"

"Dad, mind your own business!"

At the bathroom door, Chen Muxue muttered a complaint at Chen Jianguo.

Chen Jianguo froze, staring at Chen Muxue in stunned disbelief, his heart seething with resentment.

This... this brat had actually spoken to him like that, all for that piece of trash?!

So his daughter was really going to accept that worthless man completely!

"I’m heading out. Call me if anything comes up."

With that, Su Zheng took his keys and left the house at once. He then hailed a cab and, according to the address on the bald man’s phone, headed straight for the company where Wu Chenghao worked.

If this had been before, after what had happened that morning, Su Zheng would have swallowed the bitter loss as he always had. But now he no longer wished to endure, nor did he need to.

Twenty minutes later, Su Zheng arrived at the office building housing Wu Chenghao’s company.

After stepping out of the elevator, the company’s imposing entrance came into view. He checked the company name, then walked straight in.

"Hello, sir! May I ask who you are...?"

The receptionist greeted him warmly.

"I’m here to discuss business with Wu Chenghao."

Su Zheng’s expression was indifferent, his tone calm.

Seeing that Su Zheng carried himself with unusual presence, and that he even dared to address their Boss Wu by name, the receptionist sensed that he must be no ordinary man. She quickly said, "Please wait a moment."

Then she hurriedly called Wu Chenghao’s secretary.

Soon after, a young woman in a gray-blue business skirt suit came striding out. When she saw Su Zheng, a trace of suspicion flashed in her eyes. She pushed up her glasses and asked, "Hello, may I ask which company you are representing to see our Boss Wu?"

"I’m here for personal reasons. Tell him to come out right now."

Su Zheng’s face remained cold, his tone forceful and sharp.

The secretary was startled by his bearing. After a moment’s hesitation, she explained politely that Boss Wu was in a meeting and asked Su Zheng to wait a while.

"I don’t have time. Just pause the meeting first."

Su Zheng glanced at his phone and said impatiently.

The secretary looked troubled and was about to explain again, but meeting his frosty eyes, she had no choice but to steel herself and say, "Then please wait a moment. I’ll report this at once."

"Forget it. I’ll go find him myself."

With that, Su Zheng headed straight toward the meeting room.

The secretary was greatly alarmed, but she did not dare stop him, as he now carried an air of chilling menace. She hurried ahead, reached the meeting room first, knocked in haste, then pushed the door open and said in a low voice, "Boss Wu, someone just came by. He says he wants to see you first."

"What person? Haven’t I told you I don’t see strangers?!"

Wu Chenghao, seated at the head of the long desk, frowned deeply, anger showing on his face.

"Oh? A meeting, is it?"

Su Zheng strode directly into the conference room, his cold gaze sweeping over everyone present.

Around the several-meter-long mahogany table sat more than a dozen people. Wu Chenghao wore a sharply tailored suit and sat at the chief seat, exuding an air of authority and refinement.

"Su Zheng?!"

The moment Wu Chenghao saw Su Zheng, he was shocked. Then his expression darkened, and he said coldly, "How did you get in? Get out!"

In his heart, suspicion surged. Hadn’t he paid the bald man to deal with this kid? Why was he still alive? Could it be that the bald man and his people hadn’t acted yet?

"Mr. Wu, let’s put the meeting aside for now and talk about the matter between us."

Su Zheng gave Wu Chenghao a sidelong glance, a glint of coldness deep in his eyes.

"What exactly are you?"

The secretary asked Su Zheng irritably.

With so many people in the meeting room, she too found her courage.

"What else could he be? A worthless good-for-nothing even his own wife won’t let into the house. Hahaha..."

After speaking, Wu Chenghao burst into mocking laughter, prompting many around him to snicker as well.

Su Zheng did not lash out at once. Instead, he continued gravely, "Wu Chenghao, from the looks of it, you have no intention of talking, is that it?"

"Who the hell are you talking to?!"

At that moment, one of the vice presidents beside him slammed the table and pointed at Su Zheng in fury. "A useless live-in son-in-law like you dares come to our company and shout at us?"

He could see Wu Chenghao’s hostility toward Su Zheng and knew this was a perfect opportunity to flatter the boss.

"Exactly. What do you think you are, to be worthy of talking business with Boss Wu? Get out!"

Another department manager also glared at Su Zheng.

The rest immediately joined in, cursing Su Zheng and shouting for him to get out. Some of them had already rolled up their sleeves, clearly ready to lay hands on him.

Seeing that Su Zheng was alone, they did not even bother to call security.

Listening to the insults hurled at Su Zheng, Wu Chenghao felt immensely satisfied. Leaning back in his chair and toying with the pen in his hand, he said smugly, "A stray dog actually came all the way to my company to bark. Should I call you stupid, or shameless?"

This was his own company, and with so many people on his side, he felt no need for restraint as he utterly humiliated Su Zheng.

"Very well. I had planned not to see blood this early in the morning, but since you insist on thrusting your face in front of me, you can hardly blame me."

Su Zheng shook his head slightly, looking helpless. In the next instant, he appeared before Wu Chenghao like a bolt of lightning.

He seized Wu Chenghao by the throat and slammed his head viciously into the table.

With a dull thud, Wu Chenghao’s face smashed hard against the tabletop.

Only then did he feel darkness explode before his eyes, and blood gushed instantly from his nose and mouth.

The entire conference room fell silent at once; even the sound of falling leaves could have been heard. Everyone stared, dumbfounded, utterly shocked by the sudden scene before them.

Had this kid gone mad?

He actually dared to beat their boss in their own company, in full view of everyone?!

Thud!

Another heavy impact. Before the others could recover, Su Zheng once again pressed Wu Chenghao’s head into the table.

Wu Chenghao felt dizzy and disoriented, the world spinning wildly. His mouth and throat were flooded with the taste of blood.

With both hands braced on the table, he lifted his head and struggled desperately, but Su Zheng’s hand was like a pair of iron tongs, unyielding and immensely strong, leaving him utterly immobile. All he could do was grit his teeth and roar in fury, "Su Zheng, I’ll—"

Thud, thud, thud...

At the sound of this, Su Zheng’s expression instantly turned icy, and he abruptly sped up his hand.

Like someone playing a game, he kept pressing Wu Chenghao’s head again and again into the thick tabletop. Wu Chenghao’s entire face swelled at once, and a pool of bright red blood spread across the mahogany table.

"Ahhh... ahhh..."

By then Wu Chenghao could no longer utter a single coherent word. He could only scream in pain with his mouth agape, feeling as though his whole face were about to be torn apart. The agony was unbearable. Soon after, he lost consciousness entirely, his eyes rolling back as he fainted.
