As Su Zheng threw his body backward, he exerted a slight force with his hands, snapping the military-grade nylon rope binding him. With a sharp flick of his wrists, he launched the pebbles he had concealed in his sleeves toward the men in front.

"Pfft!"
"Pfft! Pfft!"

A series of unsettling, muffled sounds echoed, followed instantly by screams of agony from the group.

"Ah..."

*Whoosh!*

Moving like a bolt of lightning, Su Zheng lunged forward, his feet slamming into the ground as he reached his mother's side. The two men who had been holding her captive had already collapsed backward, blood gushing from wounds on their foreheads. Su Zheng had targeted them specifically, fearing they would harm his mother.

"Mom, are you all right?!"

Su Zheng quickly checked her condition with concern. She was physically unharmed, but her mental state had been pushed to the brink of collapse; even after he removed the tape from her mouth, she could not utter a word. Yu Qiulei’s eyes were filled with sheer terror and despair. She gripped Su Zheng’s arm tightly, tears streaming down her face.

"It’s okay, Mom. I’m here to take you home. Don't be afraid."

As he comforted her, a surge of uncontrollable fury rose within Su Zheng; he wanted nothing more than to slaughter these bastards. He helped Yu Qiulei sit on a large rock before turning to face the remaining men.

Two of the others had been struck in the hands by Su Zheng, causing their weapons to clatter to the ground. The remaining six drew their weapons from their waistbands, aiming at Su Zheng like a formidable enemy.

*Swish!*

Several more pebbles tore through the air, striking their wrists with lethal precision. Their weapons were knocked loose before they could even pull the triggers.

"Hmph... Attack!"

The leader’s expression turned grim, his face twisted into a mask of cruelty as he barked the order to his men. As mercenaries, they possessed a keen sense for the tide of battle. They realized their chances of winning were slim, but they also knew that if they did not fight for their lives now, none of them would make it out alive. The six men stopped talking and lunged at Su Zheng simultaneously.

*Snap!*
*Crack!*

Su Zheng’s expression was cold, his heart filled with endless killing intent. With every movement of his arms, he struck with devastating force. Every man who closed in on him was met with the sickening sound of snapping bones; they collapsed to the ground with muffled groans, rendered completely incapacitated.

Su Zheng did not stop, killing with every step. In the blink of an eye, he had downed all six men. Four or five of them were already dead.

"Xiao Zheng..."

Seeing this, Yu Qiulei let out a cry of shock, her voice trembling with profound fear. Su Zheng did not finish off the remaining two men, choosing instead to return to his mother’s side. He did not want to traumatize her further; these men deserved to die, but there was no need to do it before her eyes.

While Su Zheng was comforting his mother, one of the men on the ground struggled to reach for a nearby weapon.

*Swish!*

Without even looking back, as if he could see what was happening behind him, Su Zheng flicked his hand, sending another pebble flying.

"Pfft!"

This time, the man was struck in the center of his forehead. He twitched twice and went still. Seeing this, the surviving leader, who had been reaching for a weapon, froze in horror and shock. This young man was terrifying; the pebbles he threw were more powerful than their own weapons, and his accuracy was monstrous. Even though he was accustomed to bloodshed, the prospect of his own impending death filled him with paralyzing fear.

"Xiao... Xiao Zheng, these people, these... ugh..."

Overcome by terror and the visceral shock of the scene, Yu Qiulei rolled her eyes back and fainted dead away.

"Brother Zheng, I'm here! Is Auntie alright?!"

Qiao Lan and Lao Liu arrived just then. Their expressions shifted dramatically as they took in the carnage, and they rushed to Su Zheng’s side with concern.

"Take care of my mother!"

Su Zheng did not waste words. He calmly handed his mother over to Qiao Lan, then whirled around, his eyes fixed on a figure fleeing into the distance through the night, his gaze filled with boundless killing intent.

"Leave him to me!"

Lao Liu said, an uncharacteristic edge in his voice. He drew a curved blade from his waist and took off in pursuit. Having seen the scene of the struggle, Lao Liu was deeply shaken. It wasn't that he hadn't seen dead bodies before—he saw them quite often—but the corpses here were in a wretched state, limbs shattered, the look of terror still frozen on their faces. He couldn't believe Su Zheng had done all of this, and the slight condescension he had previously held for Su Zheng vanished without a trace. Seeing someone fleeing, he decided to finish the job for him.

*Swish!*

Lao Liu had only taken two steps before he heard a sharp whistling sound pass by his ear, causing him to instinctively dodge. At the same moment, the fleeing leader stiffened as if struck by lightning, his body jolting before he collapsed to the ground quite a distance away.

"Leave him alive."

Su Zheng slowly lowered his hand and glanced calmly at Lao Liu.

"Understood!"

Lao Liu nodded, still shaken, and ran toward where the man had fallen. He felt a lingering sense of dread; if that pebble had been aimed at him, he knew he wouldn't have been able to dodge it. The speed of the projectile had exceeded the speed of sound—relying on his hearing to react would have been impossible.

Su Zheng stood in the night wind, the coldness in his eyes yet to dissipate. He wasn't sure who had hired these men, but he decided that tonight, he would find out the truth, drag the mastermind into the light, and end this once and for all.

Soon, Lao Liu dragged the man back like a dead dog.

*Thud!*

The man was tossed onto the ground. Although he tried his best to suppress the excruciating pain, his pale face was already drenched in cold sweat.

"Speak. Who is your employer?"

Su Zheng’s voice was icy as he looked down at the man. The man gritted his teeth and glared at Su Zheng with hatred, refusing to speak.

"Hmph! Let’s see how tough your mouth really is!"

Frustrated, Lao Liu stepped forward and plunged his blade into the man’s thigh. The man groaned, his entire body convulsing in agony. Yet, he continued to glare at Su Zheng, refusing to confess.

*Squelch!*

Lao Liu twisted the blade, amplifying the man's suffering.

"Just... just kill me!"

The man gasped, his eyes bloodshot. It was clear he would rather die than talk. Su Zheng raised a hand to stop Lao Liu, then leaned down and said coldly:

"Dying is easy. But if you don't reveal your employer, I will make you wish you were dead. Death will be a luxury you can't afford."

With that, Su Zheng tapped a few points on the man's back.

"Aaaargh..."

The man, who had not cried out even when the blade pierced his flesh, could no longer hold back. He let out a beast-like howl; clearly, Su Zheng’s methods were far more unbearable than Lao Liu’s.
