Chapter Ninety-Seven: A Merciless Hand
Hearing Xiao Cheng’s praise, Fang Yujia settled back into calm and gave a faint smile, though a strange feeling stirred in her heart. It was the same feeling she had once had when she scored full marks on an exam and was praised by an adult. Lately she had been dressing herself up every day, as if all of it were for that one sentence from her younger brother-in-law. Yet she was clearly older than Xiao Cheng, so why did it feel as though she were the one being praised?
“Welcome home,” Fang Yujia said with a smile.
Xiao Cheng looked at Sister-in-law Fang suspiciously. That sort of attitude from her had never happened before, and it left him pleasantly startled.
“Mm, mm,” he replied in a daze.
“You must be hungry. I’ll go make dinner,” Fang Yujia said, feeling that she may have overdone it. Since Xiao Cheng did not want her to know everything he had done, she did not want her younger brother-in-law to know that she knew either. She quickly found an excuse and slipped away.
“Sister-in-law Yujia, I never expected to be lucky enough to taste your cooking today,” said the girl sitting in the living room, seizing the opening at once.
Sister-in-law Yujia?
At that address, Xiao Cheng frowned. The only people who could call Fang Yujia sister-in-law were he and his cousin sister. No one else was entitled to it. This voice was certainly not his cousin’s, and besides, his cousin had been sent off to England by the old master on the third day after he woke up.
He looked over and saw a familiar girl seated on the sofa in the living room. She was very beautiful, wearing a T-shirt on top and a white skirt below, her figure already fully mature.
It was none other than Chu Feiyu, the girl he had overturned that very morning.
Why was Chu Feiyu here? And why was she calling Sister-in-law Yujia that?
Xiao Cheng could not make sense of it. Then a thought flashed through his mind: could it be that the old master wanted him to have children as soon as possible and had arranged a marriage alliance with the Chu family, making Chu Feiyu his fiancee?
Most people fall into habitual patterns of thought, and Xiao Cheng was no exception. Fang Yujia was his sister-in-law, so now that Chu Feiyu was calling Fang Yujia sister-in-law, that was the only possibility he could think of. He did not consider that the Fang family might be forcing his sister-in-law to remarry into the Chu family. He had never even imagined that his sister-in-law would remarry, much less allowed such a thing to happen.
Fang Yujia ignored Chu Feiyu’s words, walked straight into the kitchen, and began washing vegetables and preparing dinner.
Xiao Cheng walked over, studied Chu Feiyu, and asked, “What are you doing here?”
“Why can’t I be here? Sister Yujia is going to be my future sister-in-law,” Chu Feiyu said with a cold snort. She had lost to him convincingly that morning and would not take revenge over it, but she certainly was not going to give him a pleasant expression.
“Your future sister-in-law? What’s going on?” Xiao Cheng asked darkly.
“You still don’t know?” Chu Feiyu realized that Xiao Cheng was completely in the dark, that he did not even know the matter of his sister-in-law being remarried. Her mood suddenly became wonderfully bright.
“Know what?”
“Sister Yujia is about to marry my third brother. What’s wrong with me calling her sister-in-law in advance? As for you, Sister Yujia will have nothing to do with you anymore!”
Chu Feiyu spoke with absolute confidence, even a little proudly. She might not be able to beat Xiao Cheng, but now that Fang Yujia was about to marry into the Chu family, it felt as though she had stolen Xiao Cheng’s sister-in-law right out from under him.
Xiao Cheng’s brows knitted tightly, his eyes narrowing to slits, and fury welled up in him. So that was it. The Fang family was actually forcing Sister Yujia to marry into the Chu family, and now the Chu family had even come to the door to push her around.
Fang Yujia was only an ordinary woman, while Chu Feiyu was a cultivated practitioner. The man outside, with his eighth-level cultivation, need not even be asked about; he was surely another member of the Chu family. Fang Yujia would have no choice but to be bullied. If he had not happened to come back today and encounter this, who knew what would have happened? Some things could be endured, but this one could not.
That morning, because Chu Feiyu was the Chu family’s young lady, he had held back and let her go once. This time it would not be so easy. What of her if she was beautiful? What of her if she was the Chu family’s young lady?
Without the slightest hesitation, Xiao Cheng seized Chu Feiyu by the throat and lifted her up as easily as if she were a chick, silencing her before she could cry out, then hurled her straight out the door.
With that throw, Chu Feiyu flew seven or eight meters before crashing heavily to the ground.
“Get lost! Don’t test my patience. Push me too far, and I’ll tear you apart,” Xiao Cheng said coldly, a chilling aura rolling off him.
Chu Feiyu had never imagined that Xiao Cheng would react so fiercely. In her mind, Fang Yujia was merely a young widow who would eventually remarry anyway, and Xiao Cheng ought to have been prepared for it long ago. Besides, whether in character or cultivation, her third brother was excellent. Why should he be angry?
That fall left her feeling as though her whole body was about to come apart, her vision darkening. But there was no reason for her to remain lying on the ground. Since they had come to blows, she would not sit still and await defeat. In a single bound she sprang up and rushed at Xiao Cheng with both hands thrusting like blades.
Seeing that Chu Feiyu did not retreat but instead came on even harder, Xiao Cheng gave a cold snort. He had already given her a chance. If she still wanted to fight, then she could not blame him for being ruthless.
His spiritual sense locked onto her movements. When she reached him, he seized her right wrist and gave it a violent shake. With a sharp crack, her right shoulder dislocated. At the same time he reached out with his left hand and pinched the elbow joint. Another crack followed, and the elbow dislocated as well. Then his right hand gripped her wrist and forced it downward with brutal force. A third crack, and the wrist joint dislocated too.
When he let go, Chu Feiyu’s right arm hung limp as if it belonged to a boneless creature, dangling uselessly.
Enduring the pain, Chu Feiyu struck again with her left palm, but Xiao Cheng dismantled her left arm with practiced ease.
“You!” Chu Feiyu was both shocked and enraged, but she was still unwilling to submit. With both arms now out of commission, she shot out her left leg and kicked viciously and deviously toward the space between his legs.
Xiao Cheng had already anticipated this. He reached out and intercepted the filthy kick in perfect time, clamping both hands around her ankle. Then he brought his foot down hard on her knee joint. Another crack rang out, and the knee dislocated. Xiao Cheng flexed his hands, twisted sharply, and with yet another crack, her hip joint dislocated as well.
Without the slightest pause, Xiao Cheng slammed her to the ground and took apart the other leg too.
Xiao Cheng always did as he said. He had already given Chu Feiyu a chance, but since she did not cherish it, then if he said he would tear her apart, he would tear her apart. He did not care whether Chu Feiyu was a woman or a man. In his eyes, there were only his own people and his enemies.
If not for the sake of their former school ties, he would even have liked to take apart her spine.
Pain. Pain. Pain.
Chu Feiyu felt a searing agony surging through her in waves, nearly making her faint. Xiao Cheng had actually managed to dislocate all four of her limbs in just a few seconds. It was nothing short of miraculous. His strength was far more formidable than she had imagined. It seemed that he truly had gone easy on her that morning.
“You!” Chu Feiyu was fiercely competitive, and though the pain was terrifying, she still forced herself not to cry out. With all four limbs out of control, she opened her mouth and bit down hard on Xiao Cheng’s arm. If she could not win, then she would bite him; she had to leave him a mark.
She bit with such force that blood immediately seeped from Xiao Cheng’s arm.
Xiao Cheng frowned, pulled his hand away, and caught the back of Chu Feiyu’s clothes. Unexpectedly, he also grabbed her chest wrap. With a single pull he lifted her up.
Lifted into the air by Xiao Cheng, Chu Feiyu had no strength left in any of her limbs, which dangled limply beneath her. Because of the way he was holding her chest wrap and the imbalance it caused, her rear was thrust high into the air. She was already wearing a skirt, so there was no need to ask: at that moment, she was certainly exposed.
Humiliated and furious, Chu Feiyu took the chance to bite toward Xiao Cheng’s thigh.
Xiao Cheng flinched in pain and slapped her hard on the rear. He had infused that blow with true energy, making it tremendously forceful. The crisp crack of the strike could be heard throughout the entire villa.
“Ahhh—”
At last Chu Feiyu could not bear it any longer and let out a miserable cry. With Xiao Cheng’s current strength, how could that slap have felt good?
“Xiao Cheng, I’ll kill you. I will definitely kill you! Your sister-in-law is going to marry my third brother, so what? Are you disappointed? But you have no ability to stop it!”
Chu Feiyu shouted furiously. It was one thing to have her chest wrap seized, but he had actually dared to hit her rear. That was sheer humiliation.
Xiao Cheng gave a cold snort and raised his hand to seize her chin. With a hard downward tug, there was another crack, and Chu Feiyu’s jaw went slack, leaving her unable to speak clearly anymore.
Hearing the commotion, Fang Yujia hurried out, but everything had happened too fast. By the time she reached the doorway, only a dozen steps later, it was all already over. She stared blankly at the bizarre scene, taking quite a while before she finally came to herself.
