"Gentlemen, I don't know what's going on, but I am definitely not your young master. I don't know any of you—you must have the wrong person." Qin Lang was utterly exasperated. He had never met these men before, yet they addressed him as ‘young master’ the moment they arrived. It made him question his very existence.

What’s more, he could sense an intimidating aura from them—their strength far surpassed even Liu Man and his crew. He had the distinct feeling that even if Liu Man and the others joined forces against just one of these men, they would be annihilated.

Hearing his words, the black-clad men kneeling on one knee exchanged glances, helpless and at a loss for what to do. Qin Lang was indeed their young master, but for reasons unknown to them, he couldn't remember them at all, nor did he know who they were.

After a brief silence, the man in the center, kneeling directly before Qin Lang, murmured, "Young master, you are our master’s son. Naturally, you are our young master."

Nonsense. He didn’t know any of these people, nor did he know who his parents were. Now, these strangers had suddenly appeared, claiming he was their young master. It all sounded like a bad joke.

Seeing that he refused to believe them, the leader of the men in black hurriedly added, "Young master, I understand you don't trust us, but every word we say is true. Should we utter a single falsehood to deceive you, may we suffer eternal torment in hell."

Hearing such a vicious oath, Qin Lang frowned deeply, perplexed. Could these men actually be telling the truth?

Doubt gnawed at him. Could they truly have some connection to his past? Were they really his father's subordinates?

Fixing his gaze on the man before him, Qin Lang spoke calmly, "Since you claim I am your young master, do you have any proof?"

The man replied evenly, "We cannot prove it, nor do we have any evidence. But the blood wolf totem on your back is the sole mark we use to identify you."

"What?" Qin Lang narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "How do you know about the blood wolf totem on my back? Don’t tell me you spied on me bathing before?"

Very few people knew about the blood wolf totem on his back—fewer than ten. Before Liu Man and the others saw it, there were no more than five.

Silence fell. The expressions of the men present twitched, speechless at their young master’s humor.

The leader replied, "Young master, we saw the blood wolf totem on your back when you were born."

Qin Lang’s frown deepened as he squinted at them. They’d seen the totem since he was a child? Could they actually be telling the truth?

After the time it took for half a stick of incense to burn, Qin Lang had more or less accepted that these men regarded him as their young master. Still, he remained skeptical, unable to find evidence to refute their claim.

During their conversation, he learned from them that his parents were no longer alive. However, when he tried to press them about his parents’ identities or the circumstances of their deaths, the black-clad men refused to answer, only saying that the time was not yet right.

The men, gathered all around, were helpless in the face of their young master’s doubt. But it was understandable—even they, in his position, would likely be just as skeptical.

The middle-aged man who had removed his mask—the leader of the group, Luo Yun—spoke up. "Young master, you must come with us now. We need to take you somewhere."

"What?" Qin Lang’s face was incredulous. He shook his head firmly. "Uncle Luo, I think it’s better if I stay. I’m doing just fine here—I’d rather not get involved in whatever you’re doing."

Seeing him refuse so decisively, Luo Yun could only smile bitterly. From Qin Lang’s reaction, it was clear he didn’t trust them and still harbored doubts.

They could have forced him, but they feared provoking a backlash or alienating him. So, they decided not to use force.

Luo Yun’s gaze was resolute, his tone determined, as though this was a matter of life and death. "Young master, you must come with us. If that man discovers your identity, along with the blood wolf totem on your back, he will stop at nothing to kill you."

"What?" Qin Lang was dumbstruck, staring at him in shock. "Someone wants to kill me? Who? Uncle Luo, don’t tell me this is some enemy you provoked."

Luo Yun shook his head gently, his expression cold. "Young master, it is not our enemy. It is your blood wolf totem that makes him want to kill you. Your existence gravely threatens his position. If you live, he will never feel secure."

Hearing this, Qin Lang swallowed hard. He had wanted to doubt them, but their sincerity left him at a loss for words.

So, the blood wolf totem on his back was the reason someone wanted him dead. Did that mean the totem wasn’t a blessing after all?

Qin Lang was thrown into utter confusion, a chill creeping through his heart. All along, he’d thought the totem was a sign of good fortune. Who could have guessed it was a curse that could cost him his life at any moment?

"Damn, looks like I need to keep a low profile for a while," Qin Lang muttered to himself. "Otherwise, if the enemy comes knocking, I’ll be killed before I even have a chance to pull up my trousers."

He turned back to Luo Yun, his voice tinged with doubt. "Uncle Luo, you keep talking about ‘that man’—who exactly is he? Why are you so afraid of him? Why does he want to kill me so badly?"

Luo Yun smiled bitterly. "Young master, I cannot tell you who he is, not yet. But rest assured, when the time comes, we will tell you everything."

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to tell Qin Lang, only that it was not yet time. If he revealed the man’s identity now, it would only place unbearable pressure on him.

Not getting the answers he wanted, Qin Lang could only smile wryly. Clearly, Luo Yun was not going to tell him.

Luo Yun continued, "Young master, you must leave with us now. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee your safety."

Their strength was too limited, and their leader was still on the way. For now, they had to get him out of here.

Qin Lang shook his head slightly. "No, I can’t leave with you. If I disappear suddenly, a lot of people could die because of me."

He did want to flee, but he couldn’t. He would never allow himself to do such a thing, knowing that many would pay with their lives for his escape.
