Chapter 108: The Woman Called Future (Part Two)
“Better to sleep for a while first!”
The next moment, Kong Zhe suddenly felt a strong force strike his forehead, sending him flying backward until he crashed against a nearby tree and came to a halt.
Ye Xuan’s mind grew hazy, and he quickly lost consciousness, collapsing softly against the tree.
The woman in red snorted and took a step toward Kong Zhe.
“No, please don’t!”
But someone stepped in front of her. Little Lei grabbed her arm, tears streaming down her face, pleading in a trembling voice, “Please don’t hurt him! Didn’t you want to take me away? If I go with you, you won’t hurt him, right?”
The woman in red paused, looking at her sorrowful expression. She quickly waved her hand but was at a loss for words. After a sigh, she looked at Little Lei and said, “Don’t worry, I won’t hurt him!”
“R-really?”
“Yes, really. I never meant to harm him, just scare him a little.”
The woman shrugged in reassurance.
“Oh, that’s good.”
Little Lei felt reassured; the woman didn’t seem to be lying, and since she was so weak, the other party had no reason to deceive her. Thinking this, she finally felt some relief.
Little Rain tilted her head in puzzlement as she looked at the woman before her. For some reason, this woman gave her a sense of warmth and familiarity. It was a strange feeling, without any clear origin, and perhaps because of this, when the woman grabbed her just now, she hadn’t felt any fear—as if instinctively knowing the woman wouldn’t harm her.
Little Lei didn’t understand why she felt this way and discreetly glanced at her, then timidly asked, “Sister, what’s your name? Have we met before?”
“Sister?”
The woman in red’s expression turned somewhat strange, as if hearing an amusing term. But she quickly wiped the smile away, thought for a moment, and said, “A name… hmm, I haven’t really thought about it… Just call me Future!”
“Future… Miss?”
Little Lei repeated in confusion. The name sounded odd, not quite like a person’s name. But she didn’t dwell on it—it was probably just a personal preference.
“Well, my travel energy is running low, so I need to borrow some from him. You don’t mind, do you?”
“Ah… Oh, no, I don’t mind, I don’t mind!”
Little Lei hesitated briefly, then quickly waved her hand. From her perspective, this so-called energy was probably similar to magic power, so she didn’t think much of it.
Losing a bit of magic power shouldn’t be a problem, as long as she didn’t harm Brother Kong Zhe.

After speaking, the woman nodded and walked straight over to Kong Zhe. Then…

If Kong Zhe were awake, he would notice a card in his panel, under the Sorcerer category, rapidly dimming. Meanwhile, another card was gradually lighting up.
Moments later, the first card had fully darkened.
Immediately, it slid down from its original position to the very bottom, joining two other gray cards. The other card simultaneously brightened completely and moved to the top of the deck.
At the same time, the woman in red finally withdrew from Kong Zhe’s side. Feeling the surge of energy within, she licked her moist lips and smiled with satisfaction.

Just as she was about to rise, a strong gust swept toward her side.
Frowning, she nimbly leapt backward to dodge the blow.
Before her stood Little Lei, gripping a wooden stick she had picked up, her face flushed with anger.
The strike wasn’t aimed at the woman in red. Even when angry, kind-hearted Little Lei couldn’t bring herself to directly attack others. She had swung at the space between them, as if trying to forcibly separate the two.
“Oh, sorry, I accidentally stole his first kiss… but you can’t blame me; you gave your word!”
The woman in red shrugged, then glanced at the blushing, pouty girl before her. Her eyes twinkled with mischief as a sly smile curled at her lips. “So? Do you like him?”
“Ah!”
The question startled Little Lei, who stammered, “N-no, no, it’s not like that…”
“You don’t like him?”
“W-well… it’s not like that either…”
“Then what is it?”
“Um…”
Little Lei’s face flushed deeply. The woman’s questioning almost brought tears to her eyes.
She took a few deep breaths, flustered for a moment, then calmed down and spoke timidly, “Well, how should I put it… If it’s not liking, then maybe admiration… yes, admiration!”
Finally finding a word to justify herself, Little Lei repeated it quickly, trying to convince herself.
“Oh? Admiration?”
The woman in red was noncommittal, casting her a glance before sneering.
“So, it doesn’t matter if you never see him again?”
“Huh?”
Little Lei froze, instinctively picturing a future where she could never see Kong Zhe again. Without reason, a sharp pain welled up in her chest. Before she could respond, the woman’s voice continued unceasingly.
“It doesn’t matter if you leave with me right away?”
“W-well…”
“It doesn’t matter if he forgets you later?”
“Um…”
“It doesn’t matter if he marries another woman?”

Relentless questions overwhelmed Little Lei, leaving her mind increasingly confused. Especially the last one—imagining Kong Zhe with another woman, she felt a suffocating heaviness in her chest, growing more unbearable, as if she were about to be swallowed whole by sorrow.
Unable to bear it any longer, she shut her eyes, clenched her fists tightly, and shouted at the top of her lungs, “Be quiet! Brother Kong Zhe is mine, and no one else can have him!”
But as soon as she finished shouting, she immediately realized what she’d said and blushed furiously.
Good heavens! What am I saying?
She never imagined she could shout so loudly.
Recalling the moment, she hardly dared believe she had uttered such embarrassing words.
“See? You can say it after all!”
The woman in red looked at Little Lei with a teasing smile and shrugged. “You should have admitted it earlier; there’s nothing to be ashamed of.”

Seeing the mocking smile on the woman’s face, Little Lei’s cheeks flushed again. She instinctively lowered her head but then quickly lifted it to meet her gaze.
“W-well, so what?”
Little Lei tried to raise her voice, hoping to sound firm, but anyone could hear the tremble beneath her bravado. Her forced threat merely sounded amusing.
“So, nothing?”
The woman grinned mischievously before adopting a more serious tone. “But just how much do you like him? Are you willing to give everything for him?”
“Ah, I, I…”
The question knocked Little Lei back into her shell. She lowered her head, curled up, looking timid. Her face was already flushed red, and now her ears and neck blushed as well, while her two index fingers nervously tapped against her chest.
What to do? Why did this ‘Future’ sister have to ask such embarrassing questions?
“Answer me!”
The sudden sharp tone startled Little Lei, who reflexively answered, “Y-yes! I, I am willing…”
“Oh, really?”
The woman in red showed no intention of letting her off easily and resumed her questioning.
“Even if he has another woman?”
“Ah… yes…”
“Even if he never loves you back?”
“Yes…”
“Even if, for his sake, one day you have to let him forget you?”

She smiled radiantly and looked Future in the eye.
“Yes… if that day really comes, I’m willing!”
Future opened her mouth but said nothing, the corners of her lips curling slightly.
Before Little Lei could react, Future suddenly rushed forward and embraced her tightly.
“Congratulations, my dear friend. You’ve finally found your true love!”
“Dea… friend?”
The words ringing in her ears left Little Lei bewildered.
“Yeah, it’s nothing…”
Future released Little Lei, patted her shoulder, revealing a set of white teeth as she smiled. “Don’t worry, I’ll support you… but you can’t be like this.”
Future examined Little Lei, wearing a dissatisfied expression. After a moment, she reached out and touched Little Lei’s forehead.
With the cool sensation from her finger, Little Lei suddenly felt a strange energy flowing steadily into her body.
From the corner of her eye, she seemed to catch a glimpse of golden light. Bewildered, her body was lifted by an invisible force, drifting unsupported in midair.
