At the central square’s lookout tower, Gree led a group of clan brothers swiftly upward along the stairs.
At the tower’s summit, one-eyed Snitch watched the rapidly ascending dwarves below with a cold, murderous gaze.
Shield and bamboo sword in hand, he met them head-on...
The spiral passageway ascending from below was extremely narrow, allowing only one person to pass at a time.
In a narrow path, the brave prevail.
Climbing the steps, Gree quickly spotted Snitch blocking the way and charged without hesitation.
Though outnumbered, Snitch leveraged the terrain advantage: enemies could only come one by one, and he held a position three steps higher.
Watching Gree charge, Snitch raised his shield and struck at his head. Gree merely tilted his head slightly, causing the blow to land on his shoulder with little effect.
Enduring the strike, Gree’s ferocity erupted, a roar shaking Snitch’s ears painfully, followed by a boomerang-like weapon smashing down!
With no room to dodge in the passage, Snitch could only brace his dagger horizontally across his chest to withstand the blow!
At contact, Snitch realized the boomerang was no blunt weapon but a razor-sharp blade!
The force overwhelmed Snitch’s guard, slicing into his right shoulder, blood spurting. If not for the shield strapped to his arm, it might have fallen off.
Knowing this was the best moment to counterattack, Snitch’s crimson eye burned fiercely; his left hand stabbed three rapid jabs with his dagger at Gree’s arm holding the boomerang.
Gree winced in pain, dropping the boomerang. Only then did he truly grasp the battlefield’s brutality—ever-changing, where a single mistake could mean death.
Recalling his clan’s training, it now seemed child's play; this was the real battlefield!
Snitch snatched the boomerang and swung it back toward Gree’s head.
Gree dodged just in time; the blade cut half his right ear, blood pouring.
In a narrow alley, one must fight with reckless abandon—not to do so would shame the clan.
Thinking of his kin’s hopes and the weight on his shoulders, Gree’s fighting spirit surged immeasurably!
To become a true warrior was not merely to endure training under the sun but to surpass oneself on the real battlefield.
An indelible conviction.
An unwavering resolve.
These were the essentials of a true and mighty warrior!
For the clan’s honor!
Only now did Gree truly transform into a formidable warrior.
Casting aside pain, his eyes fixed solely on the enemy.
Another strike came down; Snitch raised the boomerang to strike Gree’s head again, but Gree suddenly caught the blade with his right hand, gripping it tightly.
Blood dripped down to his nose, his face fierce and wild.
Snitch and Gree each held an end of the boomerang, gripping firmly, while the other hand raised the bamboo sword to stab at Gree’s shoulder.
Thud!
The bamboo sword pierced the inside of Gree’s scapula, spraying blood. As Snitch tried to withdraw it, Gree raised his arm and jaw, clamping the sword tight.
At that moment, Gree suddenly lifted his arm.
Bang!
A powerful punch struck Snitch’s side temple.

A bloodied tooth flew from Snitch’s mouth, dropping from the lookout tower and striking atop Mountain Demon’s head...
Tasting the metallic sweetness in his mouth and breathing the foul, rancid air, the cold wind sharpened Snitch’s focus.
Another punch!
Brushing past Snitch’s cheek, his ferocity flared; he opened his bloody maw and bit Gree’s punching arm.
One more punch!
Snitch’s fist smashed into Gree’s face, collapsing his nasal bridge.
Gree paid no heed, using the momentum to headbutt Snitch’s side face.
Freed from the bite, Gree delivered a savage punch to Snitch’s abdomen.
The blow shattered Snitch’s ribs, staggering him almost off the lookout tower.
...
I must not fall!
Behind me is the royal banner!
Behind me, no one else...
...
Another punch!
From above, a punch slammed into Gree’s cheek—fight to the death, no retreat!
Gree had long severed all ties—racial war, clan honor—all severed, his eyes only on the enemy before him!
Roar!
He struck fiercely at Snitch’s face...
Snitch felt dizziness as if struck on the back of his head with a club, staggering unsteadily.
Just as he tried to throw another punch, he saw a large fistprint growing before his eyes.
Bang!
Bones snapped!
It was Snitch himself—when his right fist hit Gree’s face, his finger bones shattered!
Though unable to form a fist, Snitch refused to retreat, lifting his hand to headbutt Gree fiercely.
Bang!
With great force, Gree’s body crashed through the railing, falling heavily from the lookout tower’s height of several meters.
...
“Anyone else?”
“Who’s next to come up and meet death?”
Atop the central square’s lookout tower, one-eyed Snitch screamed hysterically at the dwarves below!
...
Below the tower, Mountain Demon gripped Shuke’s neck with one hand, wielding a bamboo sword to stab wildly at Shuke’s abdomen with the other.
Stab, withdraw, stab again!
Stab, withdraw, stab again!

Finally feeling no more resistance, Mountain Demon discarded Shuke’s body like trash.
Thus, all two hundred warriors of the Machine Camp, including Shuke, perished with no one fleeing; the ground beneath the lookout tower was stained bright red with blood...
At that moment, with a dull thud, Gree’s battered body slammed to the ground, splattering blood.
Looking toward the sound, Mountain Demon immediately spotted Gree lying in a pool of blood...
“No!!!”
The brotherly dwarven clan mourned their fallen comrade with unbearable grief!
“Rat-man!”
Mountain Demon’s chest heaved like a volcano about to erupt, his killing intent rising as he locked eyes with the unstable Snitch atop the tower...

Ten kilometers north of the High Court,
At this moment, Tuch was laughing and chatting with a group of clansmen on their way back.
The basket on his back was filled with stones emitting a faint dark yellow glow.
“What do you think the chief will reward us with this time?”
“I hope he gives me a wife!”
“Haha! I just want another house; my parents are old and want to live separately.”
“You guys, can’t you have grander ambitions? Always wives and houses—we are great warriors!”
Tuch slapped a young rat-man’s shoulder, scolding him.
“Haha, we’re just joking!”
...
“Look ahead! Something’s wrong!”
A sturdy young rat-man pointed forward with his claw.
“What is it, Piz?”
...
When the rat-men turned toward the High Court, they all froze...
Thick smoke billowed skyward, as if linking earth and sky!
“The High Court... is burning!”
“Something must have happened at home!”
“Damn it, I don’t want to know who did it!”
“Grab your weapons, charge back with me!”
Tuch dropped his pack, grabbed a golden hand crossbow, and led the warriors rushing toward the High Court...
