Horseshoe Mountain
High Court
Central Plaza
The battle between the Human Alliance and the Ratmen had erupted into a fierce and intense clash from the very start.
Blood flowed like rivers, and corpses were strewn across half of the plaza.
At the very heart of the battle, Muradin remained an unstoppable force, wreaking havoc and slaughtering all in his path.
Wherever he went, no one could stand against him, like a whirlwind sweeping through the battlefield!
In a less conspicuous spot, Johnny pulled a combat knife from the body of a fallen human soldier and moved toward the King of the Hills.
Someone had to stop him!
A true warrior never retreats, no matter how formidable the enemy!
Johnny gripped a bamboo sword in each hand and swiftly approached the already frenzied Hill King from the side and rear.
His feet splashed through pools of blood as he closed in. Scarred Johnny bent his knees slightly and leapt forward when he was about two meters from Muradin Copperhammer.
Though dwarves had stout, muscular limbs, they were still dwarves—half a head shorter than an average human.
Johnny landed steadily on Muradin’s shoulder, without hesitation raising his bamboo sword to fiercely jab at Muradin’s neck from the side.
But Muradin was no ordinary opponent. As Johnny landed on his shoulder, he felt the weight and sensed danger.
With a swift pivot on his toes, he twisted his body with surprising agility for one so stocky.
Johnny never expected Muradin’s seemingly cumbersome figure to move so nimbly!
Muradin flung Johnny off, and from his perspective, the attacker on his back was nothing more than a minor nuisance, so he paid little attention after the throw.
Johnny was hurled over ten meters, crashing heavily to the ground. Looking up at the towering thirty-meter-high watchtower not far away, an idea suddenly struck him. He scrambled to his feet and fled backward...
...
A spear shot from a ballista platform a hundred meters away hurtled straight toward Muradin!
Leaping into the air, Muradin executed a backflip to dodge the spear fired from the distant ballista, which had been dismantled from the city walls and installed in inconspicuous corners throughout High Court. There were seven just surrounding the central plaza alone!
With a cold snort, Muradin charged directly toward the ballista’s position like a speeding train, gaining unstoppable momentum and sending countless Ratmen flying aside.
By now, the Hill King had broken away from the dwarf battalion and reached the very center of the plaza. Surrounded entirely by Ratmen, he slaughtered them relentlessly as if mowing down grass—his terrifying power undeniable!
...
“Captain, he’s coming this way!”
A Ratman operating the ballista’s control lever shouted.
“Charles, reload fast! Don’t stand there dawdling!”
“Yes, Captain!”

Charles, the Ratman, hoisted a nearly two-meter-long spear, swiftly loading it into the ballista. The spear was primarily wooden, its tip embedded with beast bone and hand-crafted for enhanced lethality.
Each ballista required three Ratmen to operate: one to fire, one to control the platform’s angle remotely, and one to reload the weapon.
...
“Reload complete, Captain! Let’s kill him!”
“Watch this!”
The Ratman captain squinted with one eye, aiming the other at Muradin’s location.
Fifty meters!
Predicting Muradin’s movement in advance, he seized the moment and decisively pulled the trigger!
“Damn!”
With a sharp whoosh and a tremor through the entire platform, the spear shot out like a venomous serpent lunging at Muradin.
But Muradin made no attempt to dodge. Gripping his war hammer that shimmered faintly silver, he twisted his round body with force at the waist and hurled the hammer like a cannonball directly at the incoming spear.
The Storm Hammer!
It collided squarely with the spear...
Boom!
The hammer pierced through the spear without delay, smashing the flying spear straight into the ballista platform...
Boom!
A dazzling burst of magical brilliance exploded instantly like a missile hitting its target, obliterating the three Ratman warriors and the ballista without a trace.
No one could stop him anymore...
Like a god of slaughter, he wildly harvested Ratmen lives within their ranks.
Alone, he rampaged through the center of the Ratman battalion, slaying freely as if in a realm devoid of foes—unstoppable wherever he went!
...
At the rear of the dwarf battalion, Jin Li and Xue Hui commanded their troops relentlessly forward. In just twenty minutes of combat, the Ratmen had begun to falter, much of which was owed to the Hill King’s singular might!
“Push forward! Break through them!”
Xue Hui had long lost his previous composure. The Lizardman reinforcements would arrive at High Court in at most eight hours. Before then—today—they had to crush the Ratmen!
“Relay the order!”
“Tell Mogshan to bring down their battle standard!”
“Understood!”
Looking up at the three Ratman banners atop the watchtower in the plaza’s center, Xue Hui’s eyes grew colder.
Before long, Centurion Mogshan led a group of elite warriors charging toward the battle standard’s location.
Below the banner, the commander of the Ratman company quickly spotted the approaching dwarves.

“Captain, they’re coming to seize the banner!”
“I see them. I’ll call Snitch to come!”
Shuke recognized the group of charging dwarves. Their leader was a towering figure, two meters tall—giant even among dwarves.
Wasting no time, Shuke turned and shouted toward Snitch, who was locked in combat with a human nearby.
“Snitch!”
Amidst the cacophony of battle cries, voice tone was the only way to identify one another.
Snitch, the one-eyed warrior, had once served under Shuke; the two Ratmen were close comrades, making their voices easily distinguishable.
Snitch turned to Shuke, blood dripping continuously from his nose.
“They’re coming to take the commander! Hurry and defend the banner!”
Shuke gestured toward the watchtower beside them, waving his hands to make his meaning clear.
Snitch quickly understood and took several strides before turning and climbing the ladder to the watchtower.
“Be careful!”
“You too!”
...
With Mogshan’s formidable build leading the way, the dwarves soon clashed with Shuke’s group guarding the watchtower.
“Men, charge! Cut down their banner!”
A fierce roar!
Under Mogshan’s lead, the dwarves instantly engaged Shuke’s troops. The Ratman soldiers were typically trained for unit cohesion and archery, but they were no match for Mogshan’s elite shock troops.
Beside Mogshan, a red-bearded dwarf wielding a boomerang-like weapon leapt onto the wooden steps of the watchtower.
“Geri, be very careful. That Ratman up there is tough!”
Mogshan warned. Geri, his younger brother and deputy, was a top general prospect in their clan. This was his first battle, and he was eager to prove himself through valor.
“Don’t worry, big brother. I won’t let the Valanchi Clan down!”
“May the War God Gralin always protect us!”
Geri and his brothers quickly ascended the watchtower.
...
Feeling the tremors from below, one-eyed Snitch stood atop the watchtower, bamboo sword resting against the banner.
His hands tightened the hemp ropes binding his legs, making final preparations!
“Come up and die! You alien scum!”
