“Meticulous! A family-loving man must have good character!” Wu Bei grinned broadly and leisurely pulled out an IOU from his pocket. “Luo Hou, you owe Qi Jinlong three hundred thousand yuan, right?”

As the words fell, not only was the man dumbfounded, but even Luo Hou and Qi Jinlong were a bit stunned.

“That’s not the point, brother, we came here to—”

Luo Hou’s eyes widened in shock.

“Bang!”

Before he could finish his sentence, Wu Bei lifted his leg and kicked Luo Hou hard in the stomach, sending him crashing face-first onto the floor.

“You don’t repay your debts! I’m making you a fake deadbeat!”

Wu Bei, however, showed no signs of stopping. He raised his leg and stomped several times on Luo Hou’s head.

“Stop hitting me, stop...”

Luo Hou clutched his head in pain, howling miserably.

“Screech!”

The bedroom door opened, and a sleepy woman raised her head in confusion. “Honey, what’s going on... ah!!!”

Startled to see Luo Hou rolling on the floor with blood all over his face, the woman let out a piercing scream.

Wu Bei slowly turned his neck, cold eyes smiling toward Wang Minghui. “It’s a nice sunroom you’ve got here. Let’s not turn it into a murder scene. I bet the police won’t arrive as fast as I do. What do you think?”

“Go back inside, don’t call the police!” Wang Minghui hurriedly pushed the woman back into the bedroom.

“Good girl!” Wu Bei gave a thumbs-up, then nudged Qi Jinlong. “Jinlong, go to the kitchen and get me a handy tool!”

Qi Jinlong was stunned for less than two seconds before he dashed toward the kitchen.

“Three hundred thousand, ten thousand per cut. You don’t mind, do you?”

Wu Bei cast his gaze at Luo Hou again.

Trembling, Luo Hou sat on the floor, sobbing in a pitiful voice. “Brother, we didn’t come here to collect debts. Why are you...”

“Debts must be counted one by one!”

Wu Bei smirked, taking the kitchen knife from Qi Jinlong. “The blade’s sharp, bear with it!”

With that, he suddenly lunged down and swung the knife onto Luo Hou’s shoulder. Bright red blood sprayed onto the floor vividly.

“Ah!”

Luo Hou let out a pig-like wail, rolling violently. The pristine floor was instantly stained with blood in terrifying patches.

“Ten thousand! Twenty thousand!”

Wu Bei pressed down with his left hand, gripping the knife with his right and striking Luo Hou’s lower back again. Blood gushed out anew.

“Thirty thousand!”

“Forty thousand!”

“Fifty thousand!”

Wu Bei straddled Luo Hou, mechanically swinging the knife like an unfeeling butcher.

At that moment, the air in the room seemed to freeze. Qi Jinlong looked utterly shocked, while Wang Minghui’s face drained of color, pale as a sheet.

“Clang!”

After several blows, Wu Bei threw the knife at Wang Minghui’s feet, waving at Qi Jinlong. “The blade’s dull. Go get me another!”

Beneath him, Luo Hou lay motionless, looking as if he had been pulled from a pool of blood, ghastly and still.

“Wu... Brother Wu, he looks like he’s about to die.”

Qi Jinlong cautiously approached, bending over to shake Luo Hou, his voice faltering.

“Is that so?”

Wu Bei slowly stood, gave Luo Hou two kicks with his toe, and waved his hand dismissively. “Throw him outside the hospital. When he’s healed, he can continue paying his debt!”

Seizing the moment as Qi Jinlong hoisted Luo Hou out of the room, Wu Bei wiped the blood from his face and looked at Wang Minghui. “Sorry, Mr. Wang, for leaving such a mess here.”

“N-no, it’s nothing.”

Wang Minghui waved his hands frantically, fearful of Wu Bei coming closer.

Wu Bei raised an eyebrow and turned toward the door.

Suddenly remembering something, he pulled another IOU from a different pocket, looking back at Wang Minghui. “Oh, by the way, Mr. Wang, I have one of your IOUs here too. Let me know when you’re ready to settle.”

Without hesitation, Wang Minghui rushed into the bedroom, his voice soon heard inside.

“Honey, take out one million from the safe right now! That guy outside is insane...”

Minutes later, Wu Bei emerged from Wang Minghui’s house carrying a heavy travel bag, murmuring softly, “I’ve always told my brothers, being rich may be ruthless, but only the truly vicious are utterly cruel.”

Following closely behind, Wang Minghui shivered involuntarily.

“Mr. Wang, I didn’t threaten you, did I?”

Wu Bei smiled brightly. Wang Minghui shook his head vigorously.

“Nor did I harm you personally, right?”

Wu Bei continued smiling as he asked.

“Brother Wu! Lord Wu! I beg you, please leave! Paying debts is a matter of course. I’m willing to repay you, no regrets!”

Wang Minghui trembled like a leaf, clasping his hands and bowing earnestly.

Wu Bei raised his brow. “Then about what happened today...”

“I saw nothing. It’ll rot in my stomach forever!”

Wang Minghui raised his hands in promise, tears welling in his eyes.
