Hua Mi watched him for a moment, then leaned over and took the wineglass from the man with both hands. “Ninth Master, shall I feed you?”
Yan Jiu glanced at her and let go without protest, reclining slightly against the sofa.
His eyes were half-lidded, radiating a languid indifference.
The young woman leaned toward him and raised the glass to his lips. For a moment, she truly looked like a hostess accompanying a customer at a drinking table.
The man showed no reaction at all as he drank, as though it were nothing more than plain water. His expression did not change in the slightest. Hua Mi almost began to suspect that the two of them were not drinking the same thing.
After filling another glass, she could not resist her curiosity and touched the tip of her tongue to the wine again. It immediately burned her.
She hurriedly shoved the glass against the man’s lips.
He could drink it all!
“Heh.” The man suddenly gave a short laugh. She had no idea whether he was mocking her.
At half past twelve, Hua Mi yawned. “Ninth Master, I’m sleepy.”
Yan Jiu ignored her. He took the glass from her hands and tossed it onto the table, but showed no intention of leaving.
Hua Mi sprawled against him, her eyelids growing heavier by the second. She was just about to fall asleep when—
[Host, host! This is a perfect opportunity. Sleep with the male lead and have his baby!]
The system suddenly popped up, startling her awake.
“Huh?”
“What is it?” Yan Jiu asked, glancing at her.
Only then did Hua Mi remember that she still had a mission. She wrapped her arms around the man’s neck. “Ninth Master, I’m sleepy.”
“I heard you.” Yan Jiu frowned, his expression faintly impatient.
“Shall we sleep together? I want to have your baby, Ninth Master.”
Her voice carried a hint of unconscious seduction.
The next second, the man seized her chin with brutal force. His gaze was dark and obscure as he stared at her, his voice cold and harsh.
“If you ever say such nonsense again, I’ll throw you into the sea.”
When he released her, he did so with enough force to send Hua Mi stumbling backward.
The suite door slammed shut.
Left mercilessly alone inside, Hua Mi squatted beside the shattered glass and sobbed miserably, unable to understand why the male lead had suddenly become angry.
She had been bullied by him all night, and she had not even gotten angry!
Hua Mi felt like a little cabbage abandoned by the entire world. Tears immediately began flowing even harder.
Boo-hoo. Not only had her mission made no progress, but the thought of walking home alone for twenty minutes while sleepy and dizzy made her even more miserable.
“Boo-hoo-hoo, Jiujiu, I’m so pitiful…”
[...I’m sorry, host. I was too impatient.]
Come to think of it, judging from the male lead’s current corruption level, how could he possibly sleep with her?
The system was depressed. It had clearly been blocked just now, so why hadn’t the mission progress bar increased at all? It made no sense!
Hua Mi squatted there until both legs went numb, yet still did not get up. She hugged herself pitifully.
Suddenly, the suite door opened again, and a pair of long legs strode inside.

Hua Mi was still dazed when she was lifted into someone’s arms.
Yan Jiu had returned.
“Ninth Master, did you change your mind?” Hua Mi asked, her arms around his neck.
“Shut up. Do you want to die?” the man snapped, his face dark.
“Boo-hoo-hoo, why are you being mean to me again?” Hua Mi wailed, clinging to his neck.
Hua Mi had never told Yan Jiu where she lived, yet the man knew the location of her home perfectly.
He threw her back home—quite literally.
She landed on her soft bed. When she pushed herself upright, all she heard was the sound of the door closing.
The man had no intention of staying. He left without the slightest hesitation or reluctance.
It was already very late, far past Hua Mi’s usual bedtime. She hugged the blankets and fell asleep almost at once.
When she went to work the next day, the bar manager had already been replaced.
The new manager came over to greet her at once, while her supervisor regarded her with a complicated expression.
The news that she belonged to the Ninth Master had already spread everywhere.
Thanks to the male lead’s influence, her job became considerably easier.
Half a month later, Hua Mi received her wages for the month.
Without even looking back, she hurried straight to the shopping mall. Then, amid the system’s frantic cries, she sadly hugged the male lead’s clothes and turned toward the dry cleaner.
Boo-hoo. She still could not afford a new little dress. How depressing.
She returned home listlessly and began typing furiously on her phone.
[Ninth Master, Ninth Master, your clothes are clean! When are you coming to pick them up? [Eagerly waiting]]
This time, the reply came quickly.
[Leave them there. I’ll send someone to collect them.]
[You’re not coming, Ninth Master? I want to see you.]
There was no further response from the other side. Hua Mi waited a long time, but the man never replied.
She hung his suit on the coat rack in the living room.
With neither points nor money, the young woman had no new clothes to wear. She faced the mirror and sobbed miserably.
Several days later, the phone, which had remained silent, finally rang.
[Bring the clothes downstairs.]
She carried the clothes and slowly made her way to the male lead’s car.
Deprived of the nourishment of new clothes, Hua Mi had been listless throughout this period.
The rear window rolled down, revealing the man’s handsome, cold expression.

Hua Mi froze for a moment. “Ninth Master?”
She had assumed he would not come.
“The clothes.” The man’s voice was cold, and he offered nothing more.
Hua Mi handed the clothes through the window.
Yan Jiu casually tossed them aside, then swept his dark eyes over her. “What? You’re unwilling to return them to me?”
The unhappy expression on Hua Mi’s face was so obvious that it could not be ignored.
“Boo-hoo-hoo.”
The young woman suddenly burst into tears without warning.
Hua Mi opened the car door and threw herself at the man. As she wrapped her arms around his neck, she cried even louder.
“Ninth Master, boo-hoo-hoo… I don’t have any money to buy clothes anymore. I’m so sad…”
Yan Jiu leaned back slightly, avoiding her tears and making sure they did not smear onto him.
He familiarly pinched her little cheek, admiring her tearful, misty-eyed appearance for a moment, then signaled the driver to start moving.
The driver stared straight ahead. His expression appeared normal, but his hands and feet had long since gone cold.
When the young woman had opened the door and thrown herself at the Ninth Master, he had already prepared himself to hear gunshots.
There had recently been rumors that the Ninth Master had a woman by his side. Most people were skeptical, and so was he.
The Ninth Master was ruthless and merciless. Those were not merely figures of speech. Outsiders might not know the truth, but people in their line of work had witnessed it with their own eyes.
In all these years, no one had ever seen the Ninth Master treat anyone with gentleness or distinction.
This was the first time.
Hua Mi finally finished sobbing and, curiosity getting the better of her, asked where they were going.
The car drove toward a clothing store.
It was heaven!
“Boo-hoo-hoo, Ninth Master, you’re so kind!” The young woman clung to his arm, moved to tears.
The system had finally figured it out: whether its host was happy or sad, she had to cry a little first.
There were not many customers in the clothing store. The garments on display were made from luxurious fabrics and featured exquisite designs.
At first, Hua Mi remained latched onto the man’s arm. But the moment she entered the store, she became like a bird set free, racing toward the sea of clothing.
Yan Jiu was escorted to the VIP room.
Before long, the young woman, now dressed in a new outfit, ran in and spun around in front of him.
“Ninth Master, Ninth Master, do you think this one looks nice?”
The young woman twirled in her beautiful clothes, her eyes shining brightly and her whole face glowing with vitality. Not a trace of tears remained.
Yan Jiu glanced at her indifferently. He did not say whether it looked good or not.
Hua Mi did not need his answer. She ran to the mirror and admired herself for a while. With the system clapping and cheering enthusiastically, she floated back into the fitting room.
