Master Owl Makes His Little Darling Weep (3)
The starter pack provided basic points that could be used to exchange for goods in the shop. Hua Mi browsed through the various categories—props, buffs, emergency supplies, and more. The inventory was dazzling: beauty pills, pain-relief pills, body-sculpting pills, restoration pills, strength-boosting pills, agility pills, warding pills—everything one could imagine.
【Host, you can earn points to exchange for items by lowering the male lead’s corruption level. Completing missions will yield even greater rewards!】
Hua Mi scanned the names of the bizarre items, but her finger clicked without hesitation on the [Dress-up] tab. Her money would only be spent on beautiful clothes! She used every single point from her starter pack to buy lovely little dresses, leaving nothing for any other supplies. The system was anxious on her behalf, but it was powerless to stop her.
The girl spent her time spinning in front of the mirror, admiring her new outfits from every angle. The system even noticed her practicing several familiar, tear-shedding poses.
【...】 It felt like something was wrong.
The next day, Hua Mi wore a creamy yellow camisole dress that fell just above her knees, paired with a white sheer shawl and simple, dainty matching earrings and a necklace. It was a pure, innocent look perfect for school. She twirled in front of the full-length mirror, admiring herself until the system urged her that she was about to be late, forcing her to rush out just in time.
Beyond her mission to bear the male lead’s child, she had to fulfill the responsibilities of her current identity. She needed to go to school and work a part-time job.
Nothing unusual happened at school, other than the fact that many people approached her for her contact information. On the campus forums, which Hua Mi never checked, her name had quietly climbed to the top of the "Goddess Rankings."
When she went to work at the bar after school, the unwanted advances were even more frequent. She was responsible for serving drinks, but the people she encountered were far different from the innocent students; most of them were harassers. Terrified by the malicious men, Hua Mi cried and begged the floor manager for a transfer. The manager, exhausted by her complaints and softened by the sight of the pretty girl in tears, made an exception and moved her to the logistics department, which finally brought her some peace.
However, just as she finally finished her shift, she was blocked in an alleyway. Several tattooed men with cigarettes dangling from their lips had been waiting specifically for her. The moment she stepped out, she was roughly dragged into a dark side street.
The setting was a familiar, pitch-black alley, but the antagonists had changed from a powerful crime lord to low-life thugs. The tattooed man let out a lewd laugh, his predatory gaze roaming over her body. Hua Mi covered her chest and retreated until her back hit the wall, looking at them with fear—unaware that such a reaction only fueled their malicious intent.
"Hey, don't be scared, little beauty. Just be a good girl and play with us, and we won't make it too hard on you."
"Wuwuwu, what are you doing? Stay away!" The girl’s face turned deathly pale, her eyes brimming with helpless, fragile tears. She looked like a delicate flower swaying in a storm, pitiful and heartbreaking.
The system was spinning in circles, frantic. It had no points and no items, and its host was just a frail, weak girl—how could she possibly fend off these grown men? If the host met with an accident here, their mission would be a failure. If only someone would come to play the hero! Usually, heroics were the job of the male lead, but where was he?
It was only then that Hua Mi and the system realized a fatal problem: they didn't have the male lead’s contact information! They were here to complete a mission, yet they couldn't even find their target.
【Host, host, don't panic.】 The system sounded even more panicked than she was. 【I'll go ask the higher-ups for an exception to let you borrow points so we can get some self-defense items!】 But it was clear that the situation wouldn't wait for it to consult the main system.
The tattooed men sneered, "Little beauty, no one is coming to save you. Let’s stop wasting time and get started."
"Wuwuwu, don't touch me, please!"
*Rip.* The white sheer shawl on Hua Mi's shoulders was torn away by the men. She wailed loudly, and the men laughed even harder. The girl widened her eyes, staring at her ruined clothes, and her tears flowed even more fiercely. "Wuwuwu, my clothes! Wuwuwu!"
This time, however, the girl’s crying sounded completely different—sharp, piercing, mournful, and agonizing, like a demonic wail. The lead tattooed man, who had initially found her crying amusing, now felt a splitting headache. He glared at her and roared, "Shut up! Keep it down!"
The girl sobbed miserably, appearing even more terrified by his shout, but she showed no signs of stopping. Annoyed, the leader raised his hand, intending to slap her into silence. Hua Mi weakly raised her fist in resistance, but the leader didn't even acknowledge her movement.
The man’s descending palm slammed into her soft little fist.
"Aaaah—!"
The leader clutched his palm and shrieked—the scream had come from him. He felt every bone in his hand shatter. Staring at Hua Mi, he yelled, "What the hell did you do?"
"Wuwuwu, my poor clothes, wuwuwu!" The girl sobbed, ignoring him entirely as she wept over her loss, while her fist landed once more. The leader couldn't dodge in time, and the tiny fist slammed into his chest.
*Thud—!* The leader vomited a mouthful of blood.
The others froze, stunned by the impossible scene. The girl was crying even harder than before, and her strikes seemed so light and effortless, yet their boss was lying on the ground coughing up blood. It was cursed!
Feeling that something was terribly wrong, the others panicked. But the girl was perfectly "fair"—one punch for each of them. In the end, only the weeping girl remained standing in the alley. The tattooed men lay on the ground, groaning in agony. Even though they were the ones who were injured, the girl—who had only suffered a torn garment—was the one crying the most miserably.
【Stunned.jpg】 The host it had bonded with really seemed to have something wrong with her!
Hua Mi walked out of the alley, sniffing and sobbing. Her hands clutched her shredded white shawl tightly, her slender fingers white at the knuckles as she tried to pull the broken fabric together. The night breeze blew, bringing a chill.
Next to the bar was a private club. Almost at the same time as Hua Mi emerged, a tall man walked out of the club. As if sensing something, both looked up simultaneously, their gazes meeting.
【!!!】
【Thank goodness, it's the male lead!】 The male lead truly lived up to his title; whenever there was trouble, he was there.
"Master Jiu! Wuwuwu!" The girl paused, then immediately ran toward the man. His subordinates tried to stop her, but she was agile, and in the blink of an eye, she had grabbed the man’s arm.
"Master Jiu, it’s so scary, someone bullied me, wuwuwu." Her tears fell like rain, looking utterly pitiful.
Yan Jiu’s gaze rested for a few seconds on her tattered, ruined dress.
