Chapter 108: The Formidable Golden Armor

"If not for my pursuit of the poison arts, I would have already reached the seventh level of the Spirit Gathering Realm." The green-faced warrior slashed his sword repeatedly against the ground. Although his Azure Poison Sword was a precious artifact, it could not be wielded as a flying sword and had to be held by hand; nevertheless, its power was extraordinary.

Beams of azure light struck toward Chu Jie in the air. Because every one of his attacks was laced with toxin, Chu Jie dodged incessantly. Unsure if he could withstand the venom, he chose to evade whenever possible.

"It seems you are nothing more than this, ha-ha!" The green-faced warrior laughed wildly. The azure sword light and the constantly appearing droplets of poison nearly obliterated the giant boulders behind Chu Jie. While Chu Jie fought the green-faced warrior alone, Duan Kun dealt with the remaining rogue cultivators.

High in the air, Chu Jie sneered. Initially hesitant about his approach, he now fully understood the green-faced warrior's patterns after observing him for a while. He summoned the Primordial Cauldron; whenever the warrior unleashed poison droplets, Chu Jie would draw them into the cauldron to be stored separately. As for the sword light, his speed was more than sufficient to evade it. He had no intention of wasting energy on high-expenditure moves like the Nine Suns Sky-Splitting Claw; a standard approach would suffice to kill him.

Seeing his poison droplets being neutralized, the green-faced warrior stopped using them and instead unleashed waves of azure light with his poison sword. He fired three beams at once. With the interference of the droplets gone, Chu Jie surged forward, his fist glowing with a brilliant sun and rolling heat waves.

The green-faced warrior pulled a poison pill from his robes and swallowed it. His complexion turned a deeper, ghastly shade of green, and colorful ripples pulsed across his face in a bizarre display. His cultivation base surged instantly to the seventh level of the Spirit Gathering Realm. This pill, which he had painstakingly refined, stimulated his internal toxins to temporarily boost his power. Feeling a sense of strength greater than ever before, he grew confident.

"Even if you are a Golden Armor Warrior, you are still just a cultivator! I don't believe I can't kill you! Today, I will avenge the fallen warriors and end you in their name!" the warrior roared.

Chu Jie threw a punch, but instead of aiming for the warrior's face, he struck his chest, causing the sun on his fist to explode. The warrior was proving troublesome, and though Chu Jie had wanted to avoid his strongest techniques, the warrior’s endless tricks and his sudden breakthrough forced his hand.

The green-faced warrior staggered back but did not fly away; the poison pill had clearly bolstered his physical constitution as well. He sneered, "I possess an Innate Poison Body. Stimulated by the medicine, my physical strength is far beyond your imagination."

His Azure Poison Sword glowed more terrifyingly than ever, ripples of light shimmering along its blade. The warrior’s face began to turn from green to black, but his aura climbed steadily, wrapped in a lethal, toxic azure energy.

"Everyone, stay away from him," Chu Jie warned Wu Long and the others; the warrior was now extremely dangerous.

At this moment, Luo Hao, who had been knocked unconscious, awoke. Lying on the ground, he glared at Chu Jie with hatred, then looked at the green-faced warrior. "Kill him! Kill him, and our Luo family will grant you unimaginable rewards!" Luo Hao shouted.

He did not realize that almost everyone from the Luo family in this area was already dead, save for him, whom Chu Jie had deliberately spared. The others knew this, which was why they hadn't bothered to finish him off. Seeing the green-faced warrior’s display of power, a few of the fifty-odd rogue cultivators began to cheer him on.

Chu Jie sneered. These people had brought this upon themselves by trying to kill him for his treasures.

Suddenly, a massive azure blade beam, three times larger than the previous ones, slashed through the air, carving a deep trench into the ground. Chu Jie dodged, but more than a dozen beams followed, glowing with a sinister, toxic light. One beam nearly struck Luo Hao, but Wu Long grabbed him and pulled him to safety.

"What, saved you and you won't thank your grandfather?" Wu Long sneered.

Luo Hao’s expression was hideous. "You dare attack the Luo family? You're as good as dead! My family will surely avenge me!"

Wu Long slapped him across the face. "Go to your family and watch as our boss destroys your last shred of hope."

Meanwhile, Chu Jie dodged frantically, his "Cycle Scroll" spinning rapidly to draw on his internal spiritual energy.

"Still dodging? I’ll give you nowhere to run!" The warrior roared, unleashing hundreds of azure blades in seconds. The sky was filled with terrifying streaks of azure light.

Unable to dodge any longer, Chu Jie stopped moving. Nine scorching suns manifested behind him, illuminating the ground and radiating such intense heat that everyone felt as if they were burning.

"Chu Jie's technique has grown even stronger," Duan Kun noted keenly.

Wu Long looked at Chu Jie, who hovered like a god, and muttered, "As expected of our boss, he's incredible."

The green-faced warrior continued to unleash his blades. As the Nine Suns Sky-Splitting Claw descended, the first azure blade slammed into Chu Jie’s golden armor. A faint mark appeared, followed by a powdery substance that seemed intent on corroding the metal. The golden armor emitted a brilliant light as its runes flared to life, resisting the corruption.

Blade after blade struck; half of the hundred beams impacted Chu Jie’s armor, covering him in white, corrosive powder. Where the powder fell to the ground, it etched deep, bottomless pits.

Simultaneously, Chu Jie’s Golden Dragon Claw descended toward the warrior’s head. With the warrior fully committed to his own offensive, he had no time to defend. The claw struck, tearing into the warrior's shoulder and leaving it a bloody mess.

Before the warrior could recover, the nine suns behind Chu Jie whistled through the air and slammed into him. The first blast made him vomit blood. The second hit him as he tried to dodge, locking his position in place; he coughed more blood as his complexion shifted from black to green—his toxic reserves were failing. The third sun shattered against his wounded shoulder, compounding his injuries.

He looked up to see Chu Jie still suspended in the air, completely encased in white powder and motionless. The fourth through ninth suns hammered into him relentlessly. His body, initially protected by spiritual energy, soon lost all ability to defend. He was battered into a bloody pulp, one leg severed.

"Is he dead yet?" the warrior wheezed, his vision blurring as his life force ebbed away.

In the air, Chu Jie had been annoyed by the white powder, but he realized that by channeling more spiritual energy into the armor, he could render it harmless. The armor was perfect for both physical and corrosive attacks. He had remained motionless solely to focus his energy.

Now, he surged his spiritual power into the armor. With a violent tremor, the white powder fell away, etching deep holes into the earth below. When the powder cleared, everyone saw that his golden armor remained pristine and brilliantly polished.

The green-faced warrior coughed up a final mouthful of blood, his expression turning blank as he collapsed, his spirit broken and his life extinguished.

Chu Jie channeled a bit more energy, and the defensive runes on his armor shimmered once more, shaking off the remaining dust. Luo Hao, watching this, was struck dumb, his last hope for survival crumbling into absolute despair.
